Introducing Exovia, a Serene Asteroid Mining Game that Trades Combat for Ingenuity
Posted May 06, 2025Experienced game developer and publisher ByteRockers’ Games just announced their newest, in-house developed asteroid mining and resource gathering game, Exovia. Featuring zero gravity physics and a serene sandbox, Exovia is set to relax players in a low-stakes 2D space, while also providing logistics-based challenges that push you to optimize and gather it all.
You are a hard-working space engineer tasked with mining asteroids for resources and figuring out how to effectively bring them back for processing. Every material begins as part of the asteroid, requiring you to mine, gather, and transport resources in the best way you’re able to. Upgrade your capabilities over time and go deeper and deeper into distinct biomes with unique challenges.
Driven by a spirit of optimism rather than conquest and fear, Exovia encourages you to move at your own pace, embracing a vision of space as a place of wonder. Set-pieces scattered throughout the biomes and long-term missions present a narrative to this quest, bringing meaning and purpose to the relaxing solitude. As you unlock new technologies, update your capabilities and overcome increasingly harder logistical challenges that can be approached in many ways. Build, explore, and engineer your way toward the ultimate milestone of mankind: activating the warp gate and opening a new frontier in the stars.
Emergent gameplay that is both meditative and deeply satisfying is the most important core pillar of Exovia, a project that ByteRockers’ Games has been working on internally since 2024 in tandem with the team’s publishing efforts for several other titles. Exovia is the latest from a team that strives to create something new with every project they tackle. "The world can sometimes feel uncertain these days. We wanted to make a game where people can take their time and unwind — a space to relax in, without pressure.", said Maxim Suckow, Game Designer at ByteRockers' Games.
A playable demo will be available on Steam starting on May 8th. Exovia is set to release in 2026.
