From the Makers of Moonlighter Comes Cataclismo, A Stylish RTS Tower Defense Adventure
Posted January 18, 2024Acclaimed indie studio Digital Sun is excited to be drawing closer to the release of their upcoming real-time strategy and tower defense title Cataclismo, set to release in Q2 2024. Defend the last bastion of humanity in a ruined world, building fortresses brick by brick to fend off waves of Horrors. Withstand the siege and rise above the haze in a story of hope, resilience, and community.
Cataclismo is Digital Sun's first self-published title, having previously developed the hit action RPG Moonlighter (which has sold over 2 million copies) and the critically acclaimed League of Legends spinoff The Mageseeker. Cataclismo not only represents a step forward in terms of scope and innovation but also brings them closer to realizing their dream as a leading indie studio.
“At Digital Sun, we come from humble beginnings, doing games for other people,” said Digital Sun CEO Javi Giménez. “We've always looked up to studios like Supergiant and Klei that feel truly independent. We've dreamt of being able to publish our own games and talk directly to our players and self-publishing. Cataclismo is the next step in realizing that dream."
The Cataclismo left the world devastated. But... what if we could rebuild? In Cataclismo players design fortresses, optimize production in the citadel, train and deploy a wide range of troops, and make impactful tactical choices along the way. The game features a 30-hour single-player campaign complete with VA and cutscenes, during which players will become master builders and survivalists while joining Lady Iris, the most promising scholar in humanity’s last city, in a story of hope and home.
Alongside the single-player campaign, Cataclismo also offers Survival, Creative, and Skirmish modes, each of which boasts unique ways to play. Whether it's facing off against increasingly challenging, endless waves of horrors, or building without limitation or fear of monsters, there are lots of exciting adventures beyond the main Cataclismo story. All this and more awaits when Cataclismo launches on PC in Q2, 2024.
